Housing Intensification, Melbourne 2011 (first component)

This layer shows the first component of housing intensification for Melbourne 2011. SPSS was used to run the factor analysis. Raw data was downloaded from ABS, SA1, 2011 Factor 1 is dominated by young adults (15-34 years old) migrants from South East Asia, North East Asia, and some migrants from Southern Central Asia who have arrived in Australia between 2001 and 2011. Although this group encompasses mostly private renters, highest level of purchasers are also within this group. Apparently university students were the unemployed ones (labour force not stated) with nil income and were renting flats or were living in group households. There are a considerable number of lone person households in this group with medium to low weekly income range from under A$400 to A$800-1499. Component 1 explains 14.4 eigenvalues of variance (%30 of total variation).
